Worm manure, volcanic ash and mealworm manure together form a strong mix for healthy plants and better soil. Worm manure is full of beneficial microorganisms, volcanic ash provides essential minerals and mealworm manure strengthens plants’ natural defenses. Together, they improve soil structure, nourish soil life and provide strong, resilient plants.
1. Worm manure (Vermicompost).
- Rich in microorganisms: Contains beneficial bacteria and fungi that improve soil health.
- Good structure: Improves the airiness and water balance of the soil.
- Slow release of nutrients: Prevents leaching and provides a stable supply of nutrients.
2. volcanic ash
- Mineral-rich: Contains trace elements such as silicon, magnesium, iron and calcium, which are essential for plant growth.
- Soil Life Activator: Stimulates microorganisms, which promotes decomposition of organic matter and nutrient uptake.
- Improves soil structure: Helps build stable, airy soil.
3. Mealworm manure
- Contains chitin: Chitin stimulates the plant to produce natural defenses against pests and fungi.
- Rich in nitrogen and phosphorus: Good for leaf and root growth.
- Fast and slow release: Provides immediately available and long-lasting nutrition.
Why this combination works well
✔ Synergy between soil life and minerals → Worm manure and mealworm manure nourish microorganisms, while volcanic ash provides essential minerals.
✔ Natural disease resistance → Chitin in mealworm manure helps plants protect themselves, and volcanic ash can reduce fungi.
✔ Healthy root development → Worm manure improves structure and retains moisture, while lava meal replenishes trace minerals.
How to apply.
- Worm manure: Spread 1-2 cm of worm manure over the soil and mix it well through the top layer.
- volcanic ash : Sprinkle 100-200 grams of volcanic ash per square meter over the soil.
- Mealworm manure: Spread 50-100 grams of mealworm manure per square meter over the soil.
Finally, even more impact
Make your own worm compost
If you want even more positive impact on your soil, make your own worm compost. Add healthy compost or healthy garden soil to your worm composter. This will also contain many bacteria and fungi including mycorrhiza. And these will then reproduce to their heart’s content in your worm composter.
Make your compost in a worm composter, or directly where you need it with a worm tube.
Feed the worms in your soil
Our compost worm mix contains worms that stay on the surface, handle a lot of waste, and feel right at home in a worm composter.
The worm mix for soil improvement also contains worms that help more with drainage, feeding on the manure of other worms. Add this mix and make sure there is enough organic material. For example, by mulching and/or adding worm manure or other compost. Of course, in a healthy, well-drained soil, you don’t need to add extra worms!
